PRELIMINARY


In learning English you will meet with many types of words, one of which is Conditional sentence. Characteristic of this type of sentence begins with the word "if" in the form of condition (condition) and independent clauses in the form of result / konsekwensi (results) of the requirement.Conditional Sentence Type 1, 2, 3 (Understanding, Formulas, And Examples) Conditional Sentence means conditional sentence , this sentence serves to declare something that may or may not happen as expected. In general there are three types of Conditional type 1, 2.3.

1.      Knowing the Understanding Conditional Sentence.
2.      Knowing The Function Of Conditional Sentence.
3.      Knowing the Types of Conditional Sentence.
4.      Know the example of Conditional Sentence.







CHAPTER II

CONDITIONAL SENTENCE



Conditional Sentence is a sentence used to indicate something that may or may not happen as expected.
Conditional sentence consists of two clauses, namely:
Main Clause (Parent Sentence) and IF Clause.
The location of the main clause can be in front of or behind IF Clause. This location
difference does not affect the meaning.

1.         To assume something that happens in the future.
2.         To rely on something that is not possible now.
3.         To assume something that has happened in the past.

1.        Type I : Future Conditional
This phrase reveals events that are expected to occur in the future and are likely to occur.
Sentence Pattern:
If + S + Verb (present)S + will + Verb1
Sentence 1                   Sentence 2


2.       Type II : Present Conditional
This phrase declares the expected event happening now but does not happen.
Sentence Pattern:
If + S + Verb 2 / were,     S + would + Verb1
Sentence 1                   Sentence 2
3.      Type III: Past Conditional
This phrase declares events that were expected to happen in the past, but did not happen.
Sentence Pattern:
If + S + had + Verb 3S + would have + Verb 3

A.    Example type I
a.       If I have free time, I will go swimming.
b.      If you meet Andy, ask him to call me.
c.       If you don’t finish your homework, your teacher will be angry.
d.      If he doesn’t come, I won’t be angry. / Unless he comes, I won’t be angry.
e.       If he comes, I won’t be angry.
f.       If they invite you, will you come?
                The conditional sentence of type 1 is used to express or assume something that has not happened at the present time and is likely to occur in the near future. This kind of sentence explains to express a pattern of cause and effect.
B.     Example type II
a.       If it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day.
b.      If Nisa studied hard, she would pass.
c.       If I had much money, I would buy a sport car.
d.      If I were a millionaire, I would donate my money to charity.
e.       If Nisa studied hard, she wouldn’t fail.
                The conditional sentence of type 2 is a sentence used to express something that is unlikely to happen or is contrary to reality at the present time. Sentences of this type are usually used to express a fantasy.
            Fact: the fact expressed by the sentence of type 2 assumption is that at present what is assumed does not happen.
                Note: were used either by singular or plural subjects. However. there are times when the wash form is used on the subject (I, he, she, it) when used in informal conversations.
For example: If I was you. I would accept his invitation.
C.     Example type III
a.       If you had remembered to invite me, I would have attended your party.
b.      If I had given the interviewer really good answers, I might have got a higher position than you.
c.       If the waitress had been careful, she wouldn’t have broken many plates.
d.      If he had asked you for forgiveness, would you have forgiven him?
                The conditional sentence of type 3 is a sentence that presupposes something that has happened and did not happen in the past. This type of sentence is usually used to express a regret.
            The fact expressed in this presuppositional phrase is that what is assumed has never happened in the past.
                Conditional Sentence can also use a progressive or continuous form if it explains the process that is happening.

CHAPTER III
CLOSING


     Conditional Sentence is a sentence used to indicate something that may or may not happen as expected.
Conditional sentence consists of two clauses, namely:

There are several types of Conditional Sentence, namely:

     The author is aware that in this writing there are still many shortcomings. Therefore, the authors expect the criticism and suggestions that are constructive for the improvement of the writing of this paper.
I hope everyone can understand with the material of conditional centences in the making of this report hopefully everyone can learn the formula of conditional sentences and how to find the correct answer. Hopefully everybody can tolerate this report I made when there is a shortage.
